The human eye is a natural optical instrument that helps us see objects around us by focusing light rays onto the retina. Light enters through the cornea, passes through the lens, and forms an image on the retina, which sends signals to the brain.
Dispersion of light occurs when white light passes through a prism and splits into its constituent colors (spectrum). This happens due to the varying degrees of bending (refraction) of different colors of light.
