1.0CBSE Class 6 Subjects

3.0CBSE Class 6 Exam Pattern

CBSE Class 6 exam pattern means the format in which the paper is designed. It includes the number of questions, marking scheme, and exam duration. Students should be aware of it in order to prepare systematically.

Term 1: Periodic and half-yearly exams shall carry 100 points at par for assessments during the first half of the session.

• Periodic Test 1: This is a short test of 20 marks and is held after a few months into the session.
• Half-Yearly: The annual exam is conducted at the end of the session. The second term is complete, and there is a little of the first term syllabus.

Term 2: Just like the first term, the marks for evaluation in the second term score are also out of a maximum of 100. Of the 100 marks, 20 are for the major subject, the Periodic Test, and 80 for the annual exam.

• Periodic Test 2: Halfway test for the second term.
• Annual Exam: The annual exam is conducted at the end of the session. It covers the complete Second-term syllabus and a little of the First-term syllabus.

Pattern of Question of CBSE Class 6 Exam

• Objective Questions: It Contains questions like multiple choice, fill in the blanks, and true or false
• Short Answer Type Questions: Answers are to be of about 2 sentences.
• Long Answer Type Questions: These are descriptive answer-type questions and generally cover one paragraph.
• Activity-based/Relevant Questions: These are mainly for science / computer-based subjects.

Evaluation/Grading

• Academic Areas: performance is measured through marks obtained in periodic tests, half-yearly, and annual exams.
• Co-scholastic areas are arts and Crafts, Physical Education, and Work Education. These are evaluated based on participation and skill.
• Discipline: Attendance, sincerity, behaviour, and values are also measured and marked.

Internal Assessment

• Teachers can add internal assessment to the overall evaluation. These can be in the form of the following: 
• Project Work: Assignments and projects related to different subjects.
• Class Participation: Activeness in classroom activities and discussion.
• Oral Tests: Oral tests to check reading, speaking, and listening.
• Notebook Submission: Regularity and neatness in the submission of notebooks.

• Periodic Tests: 10% each (Term 1 and Term 2)
