If the points (2, 0), (0, 1), (4, 5)and ...

If the points (2, 0), (0, 1), (4, 5)and (0, c) are concyclic, then the value of c, is

A

1

B

`(14)/(3)`

C

5

D

None of these

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

The equation of the circle passing through (2,0), (0,1) and (4,5) is `3(x^(2)+y^(2))-13x-17y+14=0`
The passes through (0,c)
`therefore 3c^(2)-17c+14=0`
`Rightarrow c=1,(14)/(3)`
Since, c=1 is already there, for point (0,1). Therefore, we take `c=(14)/(3)`
