2.0ICSE Class 7 Syllabus & Curriculum Structure

The ICSE Class 7 syllabus is designed to strengthen your basics in every subject. The concepts are taught in detail by connecting to real-life examples.

Subject Structure:

  • Core Subjects: English (Language & Literature), Second Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Science (History, Civics, Geography, Economics)
  • Optional / Enrichment Subjects: Computer Applications, Environmental Education, Art, Physical Education, Moral Science, Performing Arts, etc.

3.0Core Syllabus Highlights of ICSE Class 7

The brief outline of what the syllabus includes for ICSE Class 7 is given below. 

  • English Language & Literature: Grammar (tenses, clauses, punctuation), comprehension, essay/letter writing, and literature lessons including stories and poems.
  • Mathematics: Integers, fractions, decimals, ratio and proportion, simple algebra, geometry (lines, triangles, circles), mensuration, and data handling.
  • Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology):
    • Physics: Motion, energy, light, sound, and basic machines.
    • Chemistry: Elements, compounds, mixtures, acids, bases, and simple reactions.
    • Biology: Cells, tissues, plants, animals, human body systems, and health.
  • Social Science (History, Civics & Geography):
    • History: Early civilizations, Indian dynasties, Mughal Empire, etc.
    • Civics: Rights, duties, local government, and values of citizenship.
    • Geography: Continents, climates, natural resources, and map skills.
  • Computer Applications: Basics of computers, input/output devices, data storage, software, and simple coding concepts.

NB: The above mentioned syllabus is not exhaustive and may include topics other than the ones mentioned above. Students must clarify their syllabus from their respective teachers or school authorities without fail.

4.0ICSE Class 7 Exam Pattern & Grading System

Each ICSE Class 7 school prepares its own question papers, but the structure generally follows the CISCE assessment guidelines.
