3.0JEE Advanced 2025: General Instructions for CBT

Here are the general instructions regarding different aspects of the JEE 2025 Computer-based exam:

1.  Students will have to log in to the exam with the password assigned to them.

2.  After logging in, candidates must click on ‘proceed’ and then the “Start” button to start the exam.

3.   The keyboard will be disabled during the exam.

4.   Candidates will only use the ‘mouse’ to give the answers.

5.   The candidates will be given another computer if any issue arises in the exam.

6. Computers will generate an automatic clock so that the candidates can know the exact time they log in and out.

7.  To change the language of the exam, candidates can click on the ‘profile’ in the top left corner.

The JEE Advanced syllabus includes three main subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. It is safe for the SC/ ST, to score the 45 minimum marks, while for OBC, the minimum marks required are 81. For the general category, one has to score at least 91 in the JEE exam to qualify further. However, it is essential to note that one has to be in the top 2.5 lakh ranks in JEE Main to qualify for JEE Advanced.

The students will be given three hours for each of the two papers of JEE Advanced 2025. The exam will be computer-based, and students should keep track of time to ensure that they complete it on time and that they have answered the questions they solved.

There is negative marking for some of the sections. For instance, in MCQs, 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
