In sine wave , minimum distance between ...

In sine wave , minimum distance between 2 particles always having same speed is

A

`(lambda)/(2)`

B

`(lambda)/(4)`

C

`(lambda)/(3) `

D

`lambda`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Sine wave

Particle velocity `v_(p) = (dy)/(dt)` = slope of wave at that point .
As slope at A and B is zero. Hence the velocity at A and B will be same . Distance between A and B is `(lambda)/(2)`.
