The order of the differential equation o...

The order of the differential equation of all parabolas, whose latus rectu, is 4a and axis parallel to the X-axis, is

A

one

B

four

C

three

D

two

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Equation of all parabola, whose axis is parallel to X-axis and have latusrectum 4a, is
`(y-K)^(2)=4a(x-h)^(2)`
Here, we have two effective constants, K and h.
So, we have to differentiate it twice.
Hence, order of differential equation is 2.
