Explain why an astronaut in an orbiting satellite has a feeling of weightlessness

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When an astronaut is in orbiting sated towards the centr4e of the certh and both fall towards earth with same asseleration. This acceleration is same as g at the satellite. Thus astronaut is unabel to exert weight on the floor of the statellite, in turn satellite does not provide normal reaction on the astronaut. Therefore, astronat feels weightlessness.
