A stone of mass `5`kg, tied to one end of a rope of length `0.8m`, is whirled in vertical circle. Find the minimum velocity at the highest point and at the midway point `[g=9.8m//s^(2)`]

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given : `m=5kg`, `r=0.8m`, `g=9.8m//s^(2)`
Velocity at highest point,
`v_(H)=sqrt(rg)`
`=sqrt(0.8xx9.8)`
`=sqrt(7.84)=2.8m//s`
Velocity at mid point, `v_(M)=sqrt(3rg)`
`=sqrt(3xx0.8xx9.8)`
`=4.84 m//s`
