Unique features of acquired immunity:
Specificity : It is the ability to differentiate various foreign molecules.It is specific for each type of pathogen.
Diversity ,It can recognize a vast variety of diverse pathogens or foreign molecules
Discrimination between self and non-self:
It is able to differntiate between own body cells (self) and foreign cells or molecules ( non -self )
Memory :
1 When the immune system encounters a specific pathogen for the first time, it genrates immune response and eliminates the invader
2 The immune system retains the momory of this encounter
3. Whenever there is a second encounter with same pathogen, immune response is quicker and stronger
4. This occurs because of presence of memory T cells.
