Two blocks A and B of equal masses are released on two sides of a fixed wedge C as shown in figure. Find the acceleration of centre of mass of blocks A and B. Neglect friction.

The correct Answer is:
A, B

Acceleration of both the blocks will be `gsin45^@` or
`g/sqrt2` at right angles to each other. Now,
`a_(COM)=(m_Aa_A+m_Ba_B)/(m_A+m_B)`
Here, `m_A=m_B`
`:. a_(COM)=1/2(a_A+a_B)=1/2g` (downwards)
