A point charge q is placed at the centre...

A point charge q is placed at the centre of a cube. What is the flux linked.
a with all the faces of the cube?
b. with each face of the cube?
c. if charge is not at the centre, then what will be the answer of parts a and b ?

The correct Answer is:
A, B, C

a. According to Gauss's law,
`phi_("total")=q_"in"/epsilon_0=q/epsilon_0`
b. The cube is a symmetrical body with 6 faces and the point charge is at its centre, so electric flux linked with each face will be
`phi_("each face")=phi_"total"/6=q/(6epsilon_0)`
c. If charge is not at the centre, the answer of part a will remain same while that of part
b. will change.
