Deforestation increases atmospheric `CO_(2)` content by realsing carbon stored in organc matter and reduced primary productivity. So deforestation is one of the main factors contributing to global warming other than green house gses. The various green bouse gases are `CO_(2)` (60% effect. ) `CH_(4) (20%` effect) EFC, (14% effect) and nitrogen oxide `(N_(2)6%` effect. ) Due to increases of `CO_(2)` concentration, the absorption of heat radiation also increases tus increasing the temerature. This increse in temperature may causes melting of glacier and plar ice caps. which is called global warming. tis melting of glaciers and polar ice results in raising the sea lelve. Actually these green house gases absorbs infra red radiations (heat) of the sun like glass and ths traps the heat and does not allow it to radiate back to the space.
