Show that the wavelength of a `150 g ` rubber at a velocity of `50 m s^(-1)` is short emopngh to be determine

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

According to de Briglie equation.
`lambda = (h)/(mv)`
`h = 6.626 xx 10^(-34) kg m^(2)s^(-1)`
`m= 150 = 0.150 kg`
`v = 50 m s^(-1)`
Wavelength `(lambda) = (6.626 xx 10^(-34) kg m^(2)s^(-1))/(0.15 kg xx 50 m s^(-1))`
`= 8.83 xx 10^(-33) m `
Rubber ball is a macroscopic particle, and its wavelength is so small that it is possible to determine its value
