Welectronic configuration of `M^(2+) = 2 + 8 + 14 = 24 e^(bar)`
Since two `e ^(bar)`has been lost in forming `M^(2+)` ion from metal .
So total number of proton should be `= 24 + 2 = 2b` Hence number of neutrons `= 56 - 26 = 30`
