Three metallic spheres A, B and C having...

Three metallic spheres A, B and C having radii are in ratio` 1 : 2 : 3`. Charge on sphere A is 6 `mu C` and sphere B and C are electrically neutral. If sphere A first contact with sphere B and then from C and ultimately contact from sphere B, then now charge on spheres A, B and C respectively will be-

A

`(3)/(2)muC, (3)/(2)muC, 3 mu C`

B

`1muC, 2 muC, 3 mu C`

C

`(3)/(2)muC, 3 muC, (3)/(2)muC`

D

`3 muC, 2 muC, 1 muC`

The correct Answer is:
C

`R_(A) :R_(B) : R_(C ) : : 1:2:3`
`q_(A) = 6 mu C`, when A & B in contact
`(qA_(1))/(qB_(1)) =(1)/(2) & q_(AI)+q_(BI) = 6 muC`
So, ` q_(AI) = 2 muC, q_(BI) = 4 muC`
Now A & C are in contact
`q_(A)+q_(C2) = 2 muC , (q_(A_(2))) /(q_(C_(2))) = (1)/(3)`
So, `q_(A_(2)) = (1)/(2), qC_(2) = (3)/(2)`
Now A & B in contact `q_(A3)+q_(B3) =(1)/(2) ` So ` q_(A3) = (3)/(2) , q_(B3)=3`

Three metal spheres A,B and C are mounted on insulating stands. The spheres are touching one another, as shown in the diagram A strong positively charged object it brought near sphere A and a strong negative charge is brought near sphere C. While the charged objects remains near spheres A anc C, sphere B is removed by means of its insulating stand. After the charged objects are removed, sphere B is first touched to sphere A and then to sphere C. The resulting charge on B would be-
