A ladder on the platform of a firebrigade van can be elevated at an angel of `70^(@)` to the maximum. The length of the ladder can be extended upto `20m`.If the platform is `2m` above the ground, find the maximum height from the ground upto which the ladder can reach `(sin 70^(@)=0.94)`

Let seg AB represent the firebrigade van.
AC represents the ladder and AD is the horizontal.
`/_CAD` is the angle made by the ladder with horizontal.
`AB=2m, AC=20m` and `/_CAD=70^(@)`
`square DEBA` is a rectangle.

`:.DE=AB=2m`
....(Opposite sides of rectangle are equal)
In right angled `DeltaCDA`
`sin 70^(@)=(CD)/(AC)`.......(By definition)
`:.0.94=(CD)/20..........(sin 70^(@)=0.84` given)
`:.CD=0.94xx20`
`:.CD=18.80m`
`CE=CD+DE.............(C-D-E)`
`:.CE=18.80+2`
`:.CE=20.8m`
The maximum height from the ground up to which the ladder can reach is `20.8m`.
