A and B are two events such that `P(A) = 0. 54`, `P(B) = 0. 69`and `P(A nnB) = 0. 35`.Find
(i) `P(AuuB)`
(ii) `P(A^(prime)nnB^(prime))`
(iii) `P(AnnB^(prime))`
(iv) `P(BnnA^(prime))`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i)`P(AuuB) = P(A)+P(B)-P(AnnB)`
` = 0.54+0.69-0.35 = 0.88`
(ii)`P(A'nnB') = 1-P(AuuB) = 1-0.88 =0.12`
(iii)`P(AnnB') = P(A)-P(AnnB) = 0.54-0.35 = 0.19`
(iv)`P(BnnA') = P(B)-P(BnnA) = 0.69-0.35 = 0.34`
