What is the energy stored in the capacitor between terminals `a` and `b` of the network shown in the figure? (Capacitance of each capacitor `C=1muF`)

A

`12.5 mu J`

B

Zero

C

`25muJ`

D

`52 muJ`

The correct Answer is:
A

Network is redraw as shown in figure . This is a balacned Wheatstone's newtork.
Equivalent capacitance `C_(eq) = C`
Charge on a capacitor
`=(1((Q)/(z))^(2))/(2C) = (Q)/(8C) = (C^(2)V^(2))/(8C) = (CV^(2))/(8)`
Given : `C = 1 muF , V = 10 V`
` = ((1 xx 10^(-6))xx 10^(2))/(8) = (100)/(8) xx 10^(-6) = 12.5 muJ`
