The correct Answer is:
A

Here,
Mass of the string, `m=3kg`
Length of the string, L=25cm=`25xx10^(-2)m`
Tension in the string, T=400 N
Mass per unit length of the string,
`mu=(m)/(L)=(3kg)/(25xx10^(-2)m)=12" kg "m^(-1)`
Speed of the wave on the string is
`v=sqrt((T)/(mu))=sqrt((400N)/(12" kg "m^(-1)))=5.77ms^(-1)`
Time taken by disturbance to reach the other end
`t=(L)/(v)=(25xx9.8)/(4000)=0.049m=4.9cm`
