We have , ` A : B = 2 : 3 rArr A/B = 2/3 ` …………..(1)
`B : C = 4 : 5 rArr B/C = 4/5 ` ………………(2)
` C:D = 6 : 7 rArr C/D = 6/7 ` ……………..(3)
Now appliying ` (1) xx (2) xx (3)" we get " A/B xx B/C xx C/D = 2/3 xx 4/5 xx 6/7 rArr A/D = 16/35 rArr A: D = 16 : 35`
` :. A : D = 16 : 35` .
