The part of profit of Pulak `=4/9`
`:.` Part of profit of Arpan `=-(1-4/9)=5/9`
Now, (Profit of Arpan): (Profit of Pulak) `=5/9:4/9=5:4`
Let the investement of Pulak be Rs. X
`:.10000xx6:x xx 8=5:4`
`implies (10000xx6)/(x xx 8)=5/4implies 5 xx x xx 8=10000xx6xx4`
`impliesx=(10000xx6xx4)/(5xx8)`
`impliesx=6000`
Hence Pulak invested Rs. 6000 for 8 months.
