A moving car possesses average velocities of `5 m s^(-1), 10 m s^(-1)`, and `15 m s^(-1)`, in the first, second, and third seconds, respecticely. What is the total destance coverd by the car in these `3 s`.?

A

`15 m`

B

`30`

C

`55 m`

D

`None of these

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

Distance coverd `=S=v_(av) xx` time
For first second: `s_(1)=5 xx 1=5 m`
For second second: `s_(2)=10 xx 1=10 m`
For thirss second: `S_(3)=15 xx 1=15 m`
Total distance travelled
`S=S_(1)+S_(2)S_(3) =5+ 10 +15 =30 m` .
