The correct Answer is:
A

According to Einstein's theory of photoelectric effect, a single incident photon ejects a single electron. Therefore, when intensity increases, the number of incident photons increases, so number of ejected electrons increases, hence, photocurrent increases.
Now, maximum energy of electron`=(1)/(2)mv_(max)^(2) and (1)/(2) mv_(max)^(2)`
`=eV_(0)`, where `V_(0)` is stopping potential.
Thus, the maximum kinetic energy of the electrons does not depende upon the intensity of the incident rays, because the stopping is not affected by the increase of the intensity of rays.
Number of photoelectrons emitted per second is directly proportional to intensity of light.

Assertion : The increase in intensity of incidence light decreases the kinetic energy of emitted electrons. Reason : When frequency of light increases , the intensity of light increases.

Assertion : Photoelectric current depends on the intensity of incident light. Reason : Number of photoelectrons emitted per second is directly proportional to intensity of incident radiation.
