A 2V battery is connected across AB as shown in the figure. The value of the current supplied by the battery when in one case battery's positive terminal is connected to A and in other case when positive terminal of battery is connected to B will respectively be :-

The correct Answer is:
A

When positive terminal of the bsattery is connected to A, then diode `D_(1)` becomes forward biased and diode `D_(2)` becomes reverse biased, therefore,

So, `I_(1)=(V)/(R_(1))=(2)/(5)=0.4A and I_(2)=0`
When positive terminal of the battery is connected to B, then diode `D_(1)` becomes reverse biased and diode `D_(2)` becomes forward biased
`therefore I_(1)=0 and I_(2)=(V)/(R_(2))=(2)/(10)=0.2A`
