In an oscillator, for sustained oscillations, Barkhausen criterion is `Abeta` equal to (A = voltage gain without feedback and `beta` = feedback factor)

A

zero

B

`(1)/(2)`

C

1

D

2

The correct Answer is:
C

According to question, Barklhausen criterion states that if A is the gain of the amplifying element in the circuit and B is the gain of the amplifying element in the circuit and B is the transfer function of the feedback path, then condition of sostained oscillation is given by `|betaA|=1`
So, option (c) is correct.

Which one of the following is not necessary in a feedback oscillator ?

Assertion : In an oscillator, the feedback is in the same phase which is called as positive feedback. Reason: If the feedback voltage is in opposite phase, the gain is greater than one.
