A mixture contains two moles of Na(3)CO(...

A mixture contains two moles of `Na_(3)CO_(3)` and 1 mole of `Li_(2)CO_(3)`. What will be the volume of `CO_(2)` formed on heating this mixture and the data is converted to STP?

A

22.4 L

B

44.8 L

C

50.2 L

D

11.2 L

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Decomposition of `Li_(2) CO_(3) , underset("1 mol")(Li_(2)CO_(3))overset(Delta)to Li_(2)O+ underset(22.4 L)(CO_(2))`
`Na_(2)CO_(3)` is thermally stable , i.e. doesn't give `CO_(2)` gas on heating .
Hence , volume of `CO_(2)` formed on heating the mixture at STP is 22.4 L.
