A grasshopper can jump a maximum distance `1.6 m`. It spends negligible time on the ground. How far can it go in `10 s` ?

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
6

Maximum range `(theta = 45^@) = u^2/g = 0.8 u = 2sqrt2 m`
Distance covered in `3 s = (u cos 45^@) (3)`
`= (2sqrt(2))(1/(sqrt2))(3) = 6m`.
