What do you understand by the 'magnetization' of a sample ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a magnetic sample is placed in a magnetic field, their magnetic moments are add up in the direction of magnetic field. Hence the sample get a net magnetic moment `(m_("net")!= 0)`. Magnetisation is defined as the net magnetic moment per unit volume i.e., `M = (m_("net"))/(V)`.
