Calculate the value of the electic curre...

Calculate the value of the electic currents `I_2, I_2 and I_3` in the given electrical network.
a. `I_1 = ………..`
b. `I_2 = …………`
c. `I_3 = ……………`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`epsilon_(eq) = ((6)/(3) +(12)/(5))/((1)/(5) +(1)/(5)) = (33)/(4)V, r_(eq) = (1)/((1)/(3)+(1)/(5))=(15)/(8)Omega`

Hecne, `I_(2) = ((33)/(4))/(2+ (15)/(8)) = (66)/(31)A`
Potential difference across PQ is
`V_(PQ) = I_(2)R = (66)/(31)xx2 = (132)/(31)V`
Current through 6V battery:
`(132)/(31) = 6- 3I_(1)` or `I_(1) = (18)/(31)A`
Hence `I_(3) = I_(2) - I_(1) = (66)/(31) - (18)/(31) = (48)/(31)A`
