In the infinite grid. If the value of `r = 2 (sqrt(5 - 1)) Omega`. Find the Equivalent resistance ( in `Omega`) between the point `a` and `c`.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
8

Due to symmetry, the line of resistors passing through b will be useless. So
`r_(eq) = 2r+(2rr_(eq))/(2r+r_(eq))= (1+sqrt5)r`
`= (sqrt5+1)2(sqrt5-1) = 8Omega`
