If in the experiment of Wheatstone's bridge, the positions of cells and galvanometer are interchanged, then balance point will

A

change

B

remain unchanged

C

depend on the internal resistance of the cell and resistance of the galvanometer

D

none of these

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

when whetstone bridge is balanced,
`(P)/(Q) = (P)/(S)` or `(P)/(R ) = (Q)/(S)`
If the galvanometer is replaced with a cell in balanced wheatsone bridge, the condition for balanced bridge will be `P//R = Q//S`, which is there. Hence, balanced point will remain unchanged, where galvanometer shows no current.
