A

`3 = IR_(1)` or `3 = 1xx R_(1)` or `R_(1) = 3 Omega`
When points `A` and `B` are connected by a conducting wire, `R_(2)` is short-circuited. Therefore,
`10.5 = I'R_(1)` or `10.5 = I' xx 3`
or `I' = (10.5)/(3) = 3.5 A`
But `10.5 = E - I' r` or `10.5 = 12 - 3. 5r`
`:. r = (1.5)/(3.5) = (3)/(7) Omega`
