False. The decreasing order of electron affinity of F, Cl and Br is `Cl gt F gt Br`. In general, the electron affinity decreases down the group but the electron affinity for chlorine is more than that for fluorine, and similarly the electron affinity for sulphur is more than that for oxygen because in F ans S, due to very small size of the atom. There are strong electron-electron repulsion in the relatively small`2p` orbitals of F and thus, the incoming electron does not experience much attraction.
