What is solubility product? Explain its importance in qualitative analysis.

The ionic product in a saturated solution of an electrolyte at a given temperature is always a constant quantity and is termed as solubility product. Whenever in a solution the ionic product exceeds the solubility product, the precipitation occurs due to the supersaturation of solution.
