(a). Maltose is hydrolysed to give `2 mol` of glucose.
(b). Since in maltose there is `alpha`-glycosidic linkage, maltose catalyse the hydrolysis of `alpha-`linkages only and gives `2 mol` of glucose.
(c ). No reaction, emulsin catalyses the hydrolysis of `beta`-glycosidic linkages only.
(d). Gives positive fehling's test (red precipitate of `Cu_(2)O`). since maltos has free anomeric `OH` goup and it is in equilibrium with the open-chain aldehyde form, it gives positive test with tollens, Fehling's, and Benedict's reagents.
(e). With dil. `NaOH`, mutarotaion occurs.
(f). An osazone is formed.
(g). The anomeric `C-1 OH` is oxidised to `COOH` group.
