Biotechnology & its Principles

In this chapter, we will concentrate on Biotechnology and its principles. Biotechnology is the use of technology in modifying or manipulating any living system or biological system to develop and improve products for commercial purposes. Biotechnology is widely employed in healthcare, medicines, agriculture and genetics. There have been significant changes in traditional biotechnology, with a line of division between the modern and the traditional view of Biotechnology.

What is Biotechnology?

Biotechnology involves the use of technology as well as other living organisms which deal with the exploitation of living organisms in creating new techniques for our sustainable development. It is important to note that there are two main techniques of modern biotechnology which are genetic engineering and bioprocess engineering.
