An electric heater of resistance `8 Omega` draws `15 A` from the service mains for `2` hours. Calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater.

Given : Resistance (R )= `8 Omega`
Electric current (I)= 15A
Time (t) = 2 hrs= 2 x 60 x 60 = 7200s
To find : Heat (H)
Formula : `H=I^2 Rt`
Solution: `H=I^2R =(15 A)^2 xx 8 Omega`
=225 x 8 J/s
H=1800 J/s
`therefore` The heat developed in the heater is 1800 J/s
