Theorem : If the roots of ax^(2) + bx+c=...

Theorem : If the roots of `ax^(2) + bx+c=0` are real and equal to `alpha =(-b)/(2a)`, then for `alpha ne x in R, ax^(2) + bx+c` and 'a' have the same sign.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`x ne -(b)/(2a)=alpha`.
`therefore" For "alpha ne x in R, ax^(2) + bx+c` and a have the same sign.
