The kinetic energy of a body becomes four times its initial value. The new linear momentum will be:

A

remain as the initial value

B

four times that of initial value

C

twice of the initial value

D

eight times that of initial value

For a body of mass `m`, moving with velocity `v` momentum (p) = mass (m) `xx` velocity (v)
Also kinetic energy `(K) = (1)/(2) mv^(2)`
Since `m` is constant , when kinetic energy becomes four times . Velocity become becomes twice of its initial value.
New linear momentum is gi9ven by
`p' = m xx 2v = 2 mv = 2p`
Hence new linear momentum becomes twice of the initial value.
