A body starts rolling over a horizontal ...

A body starts rolling over a horizontal surface with an initial velocity of `0.5 m//s`. Due to friction , its velocity decreases at the rate of `0.05 m//s^(2)`. How much time will it take for the body to stop?

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
`10 s`

Here , `u = 0.5 m//s , a = - 0.05 m//s^(2) , t = ? , v = 0`
From ` v = u + at , t = ( v - u)/(a) = (0 - 0.5)/( -0.05) = 10 s`
