A car weigh `1500 kg`. Its speed time graph is shown in (figure). Calculate the force required at the end of `5 seconds` to bring the car to a stop within one second.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As is car clear from (figure), at the end of `5 seconds`,
initial velocity, `u = 15m//s, v=0, t= 1s, F=?, m= 1500kg`
From `v=u+at, 0=15+axx1, a= -15m//s^(2)`
Therefore, `F=ma= 1500(-15)= -2.25xx10^(4)N`
Negative sign is for opposing force.
