Assertion: An object of mass m_1 and another of mass m_2(m_2gtm_1) are released from certain distance. The objects move towards each other under the gravitational force between them. In this motion, centre of mass of their system will continuously move towards the heavier mass m_2 . Reason: In a system of a heavier and a lighter mass, centre of mass lies closer to the heavier mass.

Universal law of gravitation states that every object exerts a gravitational force of attraction on every other object. If this is true, why don't we notice such forces? Why don't the two objects in a room move towards each other due to this force?

Two bodies of masses m_(1) and m_(2) are initially at infinite distance at rest. Let they start moving towards each other due to gravitational attraction. Calculate the (i) ratio of accelerations and (ii) speeds at the point where separation between them becomes r.

The distance between two objects is doubled. What happens to gravitational force between them ?

When two bodies move uniformly towards each other, the distance between them decreases by 8 m//s . If both the bodies move in the same direction with the same speeds, the distance between them increases by 4 metre per second. What are the speeds of two bodies ?

When two bodies move uniformly towards each other, the distance between them diminishes by 16 m every 10 s . If bodies move with velocities of the same magnitude and in the same direction as before the distance between then will decrease 3 m every 5 s . The velocity of each body is.
