A body is thrown up with a kinetic energy of 10J. If it attains a maximum height of 5m, find the mass of the body.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, Kinetic energy of the body, `E_k = 10J`
maximum height attained by the body, `h =5m`
When the body attains maximum height, its energy is converted into its potential energy
`(E_p), i.e.,`
`E_p =E_k`
or `mhg =10J`
`m = (10J)/(gh) =(10J)/((10m//s^2)(5m)) =0.2kg`
