Why does a saw become warm when it is used to cut a log of wood ? State the energy transformation taking place.

A part of the kinetic energy of the saw is converted into heat as it cuts the log of wood. It is due to this heat that saw becomes warm. Thus, kinetic energy of saw changes into heat.
