A wire of resistance (1 Omega) is divide...

A wire of resistance (1 `Omega`) is divided into two halves and both halves are connected in parallel. Find the new resistance.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Resistance of each half `= (1 Omega)/(2) = 0.5 Omega`
Since these two halves are in parallel, resultant resistance `= (0.5 Omega)/(2) = 0.25 Omega`.
