There are two electric bulb :
(i) marked `60 W, 220 V` and
(ii) marked `100W, 220 V`
Which one of them has higher resistance ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) `R_1 = (V^2)/(P_1) = ((220)^2)/(100) Omega = 484 Omega`,
(ii) `R_2 = (V^2)/(P_2) = ((220)^2)/(60) Omega = 806.7 Omega`
Clearly, `R_2` (resistance of 60 W bulb) is higher.
