State right hand thumb rule to determine the direction of magnetic field around a current carrying conductor. Apply this rule to find the direction of magnetic field inside and outside a circular loop of wire lying in the plane of a table and current is flowing through it clockwise .

The magnetic field inside and outside the loop (found by applying right hand thumb rule) is as shown in the figure. It should be noted that these dotted magnetic field lines are perpendicular to the plane of the paper. The front face of the loop is the south-pole and back face, i.e., the face touching the table is a north-pole.
