An electric oven of a `2kW` power rating is operated in a domestic circuit (220 V) that has a current rating of 5A. What results do you expect? Explain.

Verified by Experts

Here, `P=2kW=2000W, V=220V`
Thus, `I=(2000W)/(220V)=9A`
Since the current rating of the circuit is 5A and the current flowing through it is more (9A), the fuse in the circuit melts. Consequently, the circuit is broken and electric oven is saved from getting damaged.
