Explain the meaning of the word 'electromagnetic' and 'induction' in the term electromagnetic induction. On what factors does the value of the induced current produced in a circuit depend? Name and state the rule used for determination of direction of induced current. State one practical application of this phenomenon in everyday life.

(i) Electromagnatic: relating to the inter-relation of electric currents(or fields) and magnetic fields.
Induction: production of effect elsewhere than at the original locus of activity without direct contact. In the magnetised (or electrified) object close to but not touching it.
(ii) The value of the induced current depends upon the rate of change of magnetic flux.
(iii) The direction of the induced current is determined by applying Fleming's Right Hand Rule.
(iv) An electric generator is a practical application of the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction.
